I heard about the mission to Guyana and was challenged to go. In my going I worked with the youth camp team giving support, leading worship and encouraging the young people. In the sessions I saw the young people responding with such sincerity to the call of God in their lives and being touched by the power of the Holy Spirit. As I avail myself to serving, I was completely transformed and my eyes were opened to a new dimension for our youth in the UK. The Mission was a life changing experience.
I was privileged to be the team leader of the Guyana Revival Mission evangelism team. We walked through the community doing a door-to-door evangelism and were privileged to pray in the homes with unbelievers and those who were sick and broken in spirit. Each night the team led crusades and the power of God was evident. We saw people young and old, men, women and children confessing Jesus as their Saviour, getting healed and delivered. I was overwhelmed and blessed by such an awesome manifestation of God’s power in Guyana. Wow! what a trip!
I can’t begin to explain how honoured I was to have been part of the mission. It seemed impossible that both my daughter and I would go, but by faith and through obedience God made a way. In the mission field, I stepped out in faith and trusted God and He used me. As we ministered in the region of Coverden, we met several people in their homes living in poverty, addicted to drugs and alcohol but as we talked and prayed we saw God restored them. My heart went out to the girls who lived in a girl’s home and in spite of their hardship they love and serve God. I would like to support them. Please give to Guyana Missions that we may support them.
I was part of the evangelism team. As Gods presence filled the church one evening, there was a heavily guilt ridden man who gave his life to Christ with his wife and children. It was very touching to see. I preached the Word on several occasions and saw many people from different faiths responding to the love of Jesus. There were five persons from Hindu faith that surrendered their lives to Jesus and many who were delivered from physical and spiritual oppression.
Going on the mission I heard God clearly saying I would meet people who are lost, broken and downtrodden and He asked me to declare a simple message of His love. I was located in Hauraruni where I was responsible to lead worship and run lifestyle sessions. In the youth camp I witnessed young people worshiping God freely as many of them testified of how the teachings opened their understanding. The Father longs to pour out His love to His people and is looking for those who will dare step out in faith and obedience. God truly opened my eyes to the needs out there and reminded me of His commission to us as His disciples to GO.
As we landed at Timehri airport we were greeted by overwhelming humidity and mosquitoes, we travelled along sandy, hilly, Bumpy, dirty roads... MISSION! I heard the song echoing in my ears ‘I give myself away’ as I allowed God to stretch me to serve in whatever capacity that was needed. On the night I was going to share the Word, the enemy tried to inflict me with headache and fear but in obedience I pressed through and the pastor came and said that was a timely message. Again obedience is the key. I also taught on the lifestyle of holiness in the youth sessions. It was so overwhelming to see young people very responsive, being delivered from demonic oppression and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit.
From day one I saw the Lord moving and it didn’t matter where we went, people demonstrated a hunger and desperation for God. Everywhere I went with the team to minister people were being healed, delivered and with brokenness wept and repented before the Lord. The mission has challenged me to seek God with more passion. As I was stretched beyond my limits, I learned that in my weaknesses and infallibility Gods strength is made perfect. I also experienced Gods unchanging love for me and His people.
As God put this mission on my heart, I felt His peace and decided to go. I was placed in Agricola where I saw God moving in a mighty way. One lady who was pregnant but the baby’s heartbeat and movements could not be confirmed by the doctor came forward to be prayed for and soon after the baby kicked. I’ve learned that no life is too far gone for God to touch. I had to be obedient and make myself available for God to move through me, transform lives and bring hope to hopeless situations.
Mission Fellowship International has been a great inspiration and encouragement to the missionary work God has called me to do. In 2013 I came into relationship with Mission Fellowship International and they equipped, prepared and supported me through my mission trip to Zambia. The teaching under the Founder David Prasad has been one of excellence; he has challenged me and strengthened my courage and boldness to step out in faith and to be the woman that God has ordained me to be. I have learnt many Christian principles and increased my knowledge and faith with solid biblical teachings. They have supported me greatly in prayer and gave generously to my 2013 Zambia mission. I have been truly blessed by Mission Fellowship International and thankful for the great work they do in sending workers and seeking to make disciples of all nations... “God can use ordinary people to do extraordinary work for His Glory”. Mission Fellowship International makes this happen.
